Expert review of Best Western Hotel Victoria
The Victoria is a hotel completely designed for, and catering to the tourism industry, and it works very well. Bright, clean and modern, it deserves every one of its four stars for the quality of its accommodation, food and service.
Set on a street leading from the Plaza Triangular (Triangular Square) a square that doesn’t actually exist but everyone knows its location, the Hotel Victoria is a mere saunter from the prom, the beach and the old town, but close to all amenities.
The rooms are comfortable and spacious, with both twin and double beds available. The singles rooms are more than worthy of the name double because of their size and the double bed in them, but singles they are. Deluxe grand rooms have a sofa bed to convert to a family room. The colour schemes change with the room size, but all are bright and cheerful. I particularly love the dazzling blue and yellow bathrooms. Unusually for a Spanish hotel, there is tea and coffee making equipment in the bedrooms. There is a bedroom adapted for disabled people.
Bright blue sofas provide comfortable seating areas in the large entrance lobby, and a wood paneled cafeteria has light flooding in from a ceiling-high window. A pool terrace is well provided with sun loungers and parasols.
A large open restaurant furnished in pale woods with blue upholstery that add a touch of elegance, serves buffet meals of a very high standard from a variety of international cuisines, including steaks and, on occasion, salmon. The cafeteria serves snacks, and during Easter and the summer months there is a bar open beside the swimming pool.
An open-air swimming pool, gym and billiard room are provided for the use of guests, and a programme of music and shows is put on during the high season.
Very cheerful and helpful.
Mainly families and couples.
Even if you don’t stay at the Victoria it’s worth eating there, with a meal for two, including wine, at around 30€. Many of the hotels in Benidorm allow non-residents to use the restaurants, which are usually very good value. Keep an eye out for the nights they serve two drinks at the bar for the price of one, usually between 7-8. There is a empty mini-bar in the room that you can use for 1.20€ a day.
