Expert review of Son Borguny
I think of this as a bit of a locals' hotel since every time I visit it seems to be full of Spanish (and the odd German). Part of the charm of course is that you feel you really are in Spain. It’s a cut above your average village inn, with wide white sofas, exposed stonewalls, lots of bold colours and a cosy breakfast room. Cosy is the operative word here.
Right in the heart of pretty, yet fairly undiscovered Banyalbufar. And yes, there is a beach for dipping.
The eight rooms here are all individually decorated, and named for various island-based themes. Vi (wine), Sol (sun), L’Hort (gardens) - you get the picture. In fact there’s not a great deal to choose between them, the style is similar throughout – spruced-up island furniture, textiles and bold colours which I love - along with the locally stitched quilts on the beds, which I love even more.

A comfortable living room for chilling out with a glass of wine.
Solid Majorcan cooking for dinner on request, plus several enjoyable eating options in the village.
Smiling, patient and helpful - who could ask for more?

Lots of Spanish and independent travelers looking for something different, and keen to explore rather than live it up in fine hotels.
If you stay for six nights you get the seventh night free. Breakfast is included.
