An unpretentious modern hotel perfectly situated for discovering Alicante.
This small hotel is designed for one reason only, to provide unpretentious, economical, and comfortable accommodation for visitors to Alicante to discover the city – and it succeeds in spades. I enjoyed its relaxed, mixed with a friendly crowd of people of all ages, and felt comfortable returning to my bedroom after hours roaming the city. Only three years old, it is well cared for, and felt as if it had opened yesterday. Family owned, the elder José Verdu simply exchanged the tie he’d worn for years in the hotel business for a cravat and set up his own hotel with his son, the younger José.
Location:
Excellently situated for its raison d’etre. Three minutes walk from the main railway station, ten from the bus station (with a 30-minute shuttle to Alicante airport), twenty minutes from the prom and beach and a casual stroll from everything that Alicante has to offer.
Bedrooms:
The rooms are similar in style, pale woods, light beigeish-grey and white paintwork, dark upholstered easy chairs, with colour coming from cushions and paintings. Simple lines with no extravagances other than the inevitable plasma television. Very spacious, with equally commodious bathrooms that have a pleasing selection of free toiletries.

Public areas:
The lounge, with its chrome and leather chairs and sofas is more for waiting in than relaxing, but a small lounge/meeting room on the top floor lets you get out of your room without leaving the hotel. There is a computer with free access to the internet for guests. Free WiFi in the reception area and internet connection in the bedrooms.
Eating and drinking:
Breakfast is served in a bright, pleasant cafeteria on the ground floor, which is also open to the public. You can choose from the buffet of fruit, meats and cheeses, jams and pastries for 5€, a continental for 3.50€, or a simple coffee and croissant or tostada for 1.80€. No other meals are served, but the staff are happy to recommend cafes and restaurants from all price ranges.
